Anant Raut

Anant Raut is an antitrust lawyer from Washington, D.C.  He is a graduate of Phillips Academy, Yale University, and the Harvard Law School.  Raut has previously worked as an attorney in the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Competition, as well as an antitrust litigator and counselor at the law firms namely Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Pepper Hamilton.

Raut who is the current Antitrust Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives, is majorly involved in reauthoring the Antitrust Criminal Penalty Enhancement and Reform Act. He also advises Free Press and wireless carriers on the Federal Communications, which is the Commission's forthcoming wireless spectrum auction.

Raut was a named the beneficiary of the 2007 National Legal Aid & Defender Association's Beacon of Justice Award and the 2007 Southern Center for Human Rights' Frederick Douglass Award. And he is currently the Vice Chairman of the American Bar Association's Section on Antitrust and Consumer Protection, as well as a member of the board of advisors to Loyola University (Chicago)'s Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies.
