Cookies are no doubt enjoyed by everyone. And when its chocolate chip cookies, the only word to describe it will be ‘yummy’!

Chocolate chip cookies were the mistakes of Ruth Graves Wakefield. She committed this mistake in 1930 when she was out of baker’s chocolate and to compensate this, she added few crunches of chocolate bars into the cookies.

Her recipe became so popular that Nestle thought to launch it under its name. In return, Wakefield was offered an agreement whereby she was offered Nestle chocolates for the rest of her life.

5. Slinky

Playing with a slinky is fun, isn’t it? While playing with a slinky, hours might get passed without our knowledge. Slinky is a mistake, committed by a naval engineer in 1943.

Richard James, while fixing something, dropped a tension spring. When he looked on the fallen spring, he was astonished by the stepping movement of that spring and the idea of slinky came to his mind.

Along with his wife, he started making slinkys and by 1945, the couple sold 400 slinkys within a short time. And with time, slinkys became visible around the world!
