The company paid less than nothing in aggregate federal income taxes over the years 2008 to 2010. The profits for the period 2008 to 2010 were $4903 million, while the taxes paid were a negative $34 million, a fall of 0.7 percent. The company is in the league of companies whose pretax U.S. profits totaled $160 billion over the years 2008 to 2010.
