4 Things to Know Before Starting a Big Data Initiative
#1 Judging the big data:
The first and foremost step in big data is self assessment. Judge what the use is and what kind of big data that you are in need of. We can divide big data into 3 sectors- structured, unstructured and semi-structured.
Structured big data is that is being approached in an arranged form. It can be found in a way that humans and computers can easily code out. One best example is relational database.
Semi-structured data’s are the ones that are a bit of electronic data along with the usual one. In this group, we can find data’s collected from emails and XML.
The third group, unstructured data includes all the media transmissions like audio, video and other mediums that are not a part of the database.
Now data analysts initially must find a way to crack these data’s from their original format. The structured format is a rather easy task at hand, while the semi-structured ones need to be handled with care. Analysts working on unstructured data need tools like algorithms and powerful search engines to handle and crack the data.
