YS Jaganmohan Reddy launched the YSR Congress party after his father YS Rajashekhar Reddy's death, which won the by-elections in Andhra Pradesh in 2011.
Last year Jagan Mohan Reddy was arrested for embezzlement by the CBI. He was charged on the grounds of Sections 120-B for criminal conspiracy, 420 for cheating, 409 for criminal breach of trust and 477A for falsification of accounts of the Indian Penal Code and Section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
In the second charge sheet filed by the CBI it stated that Jagan and his father the former CM of Andhra Pradesh 'adopted several ingenious ways to amass illegal wealth which resulted in great public injury' and at the cost of public fund, allegedly by abusing the office of the chief minister’, as reported by rediff.com
Through court proceedings the CBI is trying to prove that Jagan with an associate had fraudulently obtained an illegal gain of Rs 34,65,99,830.
Currently, the wealthiest politician in India is spending his luxurious days in jail, after many of his bail pleas were denied by the Supreme Court.
