The electronics retailer Best Buy was seeking a way to give added value to their customers outside their physical store locations. So they decided to develop a running promotion on Twitter to answer an array of electronic and computer related questions.
Best Buy has employed an army of associates to handle its various Twitter accounts. The main account, @BestBuy, sends its own tweets but also incorporates some from its more-specialized handles, such as @BestBuy_Deals, @GeekSquad and @BBYNews.
Best Buy's Twitter integration allows the around 3000 employees and any other Twitter user, with permission to respond to questions directly from Twitter. If the users tweets are not with full of information than a community team member can automatically create a new connection directly in the related information to the community's base of knowledge of Best Buy.
