Gujarat leads in many surveys in India for the right reasons. But in the list for the percentage of houses having electricity in 2011 it features at the number fifteenth spot with 90.41 percentage.  It also has to its credit the title of having some of the largest business houses in the country.

16. Uttrakhand

Percentage of houses having electricity in 2011: 87%

Often referred to as the “Land of Gods”, Uttarkhand was only made a state in the year of 2000. It was earlier apart of Uttar Pradesh. Within eleven years of statehood, the state has achieved far more than its neighbor Uttar Pradesh who has been a state for a longer time. In the year 2011 Uttrakhand came at the 16th position with 87 percent of the houses in the state having electricity.
