#3. Honeypots:

One of the most under-rated words used within an IT security threshold is a Honeypot. Organizations tend to go crazy laughing when they hear the word honeypot. Honeypot is nothing but a computer that is solemnly used as a scapegoat to be attacked. People who haven’t heard of honeypot need not to be surprised as this technology has been there for years, but wasn’t given the much needed preference that they deserved. How do they work? They simply sit and wait to be monitored or attacked as they have no any true production value. When threat or when a hacker comes across these systems, they send continuous alert messages to the admin, who immediately checks upon the affected system. Not to miss, that still some of the well known organizations are having honeypots. It’s true that nothing can beat a honeypot in detecting early threats or hacks, except for a bunch or a network of honeypots, called honeynet.
