4. Deewar (1975)

When we mention the movie Deewar the line that goes through all our minds in “Mere Paas… Ma Hai”. Be it any generation this lien is eternal people may not have watched the movie but this dialogue is known by all.

The movie runs along the tried and tested formula of two borthers who ended by at the two ends of law, Shashi Kapoor becomes a police man and Amitabh Bachchan becomes a smuggler and fate brings them together as Shashi Kapoor hunts Amitabh Bachchan down. In the end when the brothers meet in the final clash Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) dies in his mother’s arms and the Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) is awarded for his justice.

Though many films have been made on this line but what stood out in Deewar was that each actor got under the skin of the character and played them in such a way that it struck a chord with audience and made itself comfortable in the gallery of classic Bollywood movies.
