The cook was so sure that his head would be on the chopping block, because of this disaster, that he had almost quit. Coconut water can be used for various medical purposes, one of which is intravenous rehydration. However, only coconut water, the liquid of a young coconut, is used and not coconut milk. Coconut water cannot actually replace blood plasma, as indicated by a chemical analysis, which shows that it is closer in constitution to intracellular fluid. Tender coconut water is usually sterile and, when mixed with plasma, it acts as a saline solution.
