Jim Horning: (1942-2013)

“Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.” As quoted by Jim Horning who is described as one of the leading personality in the field of computer science.

Jim Horning who holds a BA in Physics and Mathematics from Pacific Union College and Master’s in Physics from UCLA in the year 1965 and also with a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University.

Over the span of his career, Horning is said to have worked over different computer science fields, his interests were from programming languages and compilers, to programming methodology, specification, formals methods, operation systems, e-commerce technologies, and also computer network security.

Horning was famously known for his contribution along with John Guttag to the Larch approach to formal specification.
