#6 IBM Manufacturing Plant

Year of Completion: 1970
Spanning over a mammoth 620,000 sq fts of space, the IBM manufacturing plant at Boca Raton, Florida was designed by Marcel Breuer and Thomas Gatje, in the year 1970. The structure is so unique in its appearance that it is totally made of pre-cast concrete, with vertical and horizontal sunshades covering the whole plant. The plant includes facilities for administrational purposes, product testing, labs for manufacturing and distribution.
#7 IBM Pilot Head Office

Year of Completion: 1971
An office that remains still in use till today, IBM’s Pilot Head Office is simply shear magic from the British architect and designer Norman Foster. The office is located at Portsmouth, England and was completed in the year 1971. According to Foster + Partners “Although it cost no more per square foot than off the shelf temporary structures, it embraced high architectural and environmental standards and anticipated the changing role of the computer in the workplace, a key factor in its long term survival."
