10 Biggest Flops in Tech 2012

6. Users Being Sued In Name Of Piracy Laws

The case of piracy lawsuits have been increasing in recent times with big companies suing users for copyright infringement. Thankfully the lawsuits filed by organizations such as RIAA and MPAA have been squashed by law.

The latest one was a lawsuit filed by Voltage Pictures against 25,000 BitTorrent users which was dismissed by the District Court judge. The company has filed yet another case against 2514 users. Hopefully their fates will be better than Joel Tenenbaum’s. He was fined $675,000 by a U S District Court jury for copyright infringement for downloading 31 songs.

This move has earned a ‘thumbs down’ from the entire tech community.
