2. Vijay Mallya vs Manu Chabbria

Two big shots Vijay Mallya and Manu Chhabria an NRI (Non-resident Indian) became rivals in early 1980s. Both shook hands for bidding over Shaw Wallace but due to few currency regulations Mallya couldn’t continue with Chhabria and in 1985 Manu Chhabria acquired Shaw Wallace and added Mallya in the list of his rivals. This rivalry continued for almost 20 years and after the death of Manu Chhabria his family decided to discontinue with the liquor business that was when Mallya, the owner of UB group acquired Shaw Wallace and became the second largest liquor baron of the world.

3. Wadia and Rajan Pillai

This is a story where best friends were turned as  rivals . They became rivals in short span of time. Rajan Pillai was considered as “Biscuit King” as he solely managed Britannia (biscuit maker) all over Asia. After a huge war against Ambani was called off Wadia was then looking forward to acquire Britannia which was owned by an American company called Nabisco Brands Inc. But this offer was rejected by Nabisco and instead Rajan Pillai was chose as a chairman for Britannia. This is where the rivalry between two friends triggered. Rajan Pillai then acquired Britannia and after some time to expand his business he joined hands with Danone a French food company in South Africa but in between he broke the partnership with them and joined Wadia, but later Pillai was accused of fraud and was imprisoned.
