#5 Adobe

Adobe, the American Multinational software company was founded by John Warnock and Charles Geschke. They were working for Xerox and left the company before starting Adobe. Apparently the name came from Adobe Creek in Los Altos, California. The creek ran behind houses of both founders.

#4 Apple

Apple has no official story about the naming of the company. But many rumors about the secrets behind “Apple” branding still run in tech world.         

One of the strong rumors is that Steve Jobs named the company after his love to Apples. Jobs used to work summer jobs at a California Apple farm. After working out his fruitful idea, Jobs run three months late for filing a name for the business. Story is that on one day, Jobs threatened to name his company as Apple Computers, if his colleagues failed to come up with a good name before 5 p m. The rest, is history.
