NIIT annual net profit up 44.1 percent

New Delhi: IT training and talent development company NIIT has reported a 44.1 percent increase in standalone net profit for 2008-09 despite a 17.8 percent fall in its fourth quarter earnings.
The company's net profit for last fiscal stood at 
47.21 crore, up from 32.77 crore in 2007-08, while the January-March quarter profit fell to 23.14 crore from 28.14 crore in the same period of 2008.
The consolidated earnings of NIIT during the year was down 7.8 percent to 69.76 crore from 75.65 crore in 2007-08.
The company board has recommended a dividend of 1.30 for each equity share of 2.
