Indian appointed to U.S. business advisory council

NEW DELHI: Robin Raina, 37, is president and CEO of U.S-based ebix, an independent international supplier of software and e-commerce solutions, and the recipient of the National Leadership Award for 2003 from Republican leader and Congressmen Tom Delay. Raina in his new capacity will serve the state of Georgia by helping his party's efforts to involve top business people in the process of government reforms, particularly tax reforms. A long-time supporter of Republican ideals, Raina will be a key member of the council. An industrial engineering graduate from the Thapar Institute of Technology, Patiala, Raina moved in 1997 to the U.S., where he joined Delphi Information Systems, currently known as bix.com. Hosting a one-stop insurance portal, Ebix.com operates in India through a wholly owned subsidiary based in Noida.
