MUMBAI: US based express cargo carrier FedEx Express will introduce five weekly freighter services between India and China by September this year. This is the first time a company from India is offering a next-day service to China.
Jacques Creeten, the CMD for Indian Sub-Continent region said the additional flights will improve connectivity in Asia and will be operated on the US-India-China-Japan route.
The service, planned to tap the growing business opportunities in India and China, will help FedEx increase its volume, expand its network and customers.
While the West-bound flights are operated on the Philippines-India-Middle East-France-US route, the East-bound flight is operated on the US-France-India-Philippines sector.
Jacques also said FedEx the express carrier was specialised in the international time-definite high-value cargo business and will consider an entry into the domestic network only if there was a synergy between its International and Indian businesses.
