World's Most Unique and Unusual Buildings
Magic Mountain Hotel, Chile: Majestically sitting in the private Huilo-Huilo Biological Reserve in northern Chile’s Patagonia and as the name suggests, it is a pure magical bliss to the eyes. The hotel looks like a volcano erupting water from its top and has to be looked at again to know that it’s a hotel. It has a cable bridge leading to its front door, and has clean covering of moss and plant life making it embedded in the natural surrounding with serenity. Made from local wood and stone each room is equipped with modern amenities, and the rooms are named after different local species of bird.
The Nautilus House in Mexico City, Mexico: Built perfectly for a small family of four, the amazing shell-shaped house is designed by architect Javier Senosian of Arquitectura Organica. Built in 2006, the house as awesome as it looks from outside, you can’t resist yourself from entering into it. As you wander inside you will find smooth soothing surfaces, spiral stairs and natural plantings all set to draw you closer to the nature. This is a perfect example to witness a blend of modern architecture and contemporary art and the ambience inside works as a complement. The Nautilus House used “Ferrocement Construction” that involves a frame of steel-reinforced chicken wire covered with a two-inch layer of composite concrete. It is earthquake-proof and maintenance free.
