They are even used in basements and walkways in modern buildings. Granite hallways in luxury hotels provide a visual treat. Granites are the default choice for modern kitchen countertops, because of its hardness and easy maintainability. Wooden flooring is another variant that substantially reduces the building time and cost, as they do not require cementing and are easy to install. Wood keeps the feet warm as compared to tiles. Although some caution is required to avoid stains by oil spills and excess of water, the availability of finishing solutions in the market has made wood a popular choice. Teak, Rose and Sandalwood are quite expensive because of its maturing time. However, a wooden floor may cause noise if frequent shifting of objects or heavy footsteps takes place.
