NRIs Eye 'green' Projects in Indian Real Estate
Bangalore: Today people are more concerned about the environment they are living in, which has raised the demand for eco-friendly green homes among potential buyers. Currently it has been observed that more number of NRIs are showing interest in ‘green’ projects in India as the green features have enduring benefits.
Green project is the new trend that people are accepting widely as they prove to be eco-friendly. Moreover in cities like Bangalore and NCR region, buyers are revealing their interest through an Open House forum on MagicBricks site, which is meant for users to post property related queries.
Green features are like south facing window, which will allow good ventilation, solar hot water, wind power system, water harvesting system, amongst others.
On this note, a senior representative, Emaar MGF said that, more number of NRIs based in Canada, Dubai and Singapore are showing their interest in Digital Green project in Gurgaon and have added around 20 to 25 percent of their total sale in the project. He also added that buyers interest in green projects have inspired developers to launch more projects under this category.
The 3C Company, which led the way for green project development has developed many green projects in Noida. Vidur Bharadwaj, Director, the 3C Company said on MagicBricks’ chat forum, that several developers are launching green projects in Noida. He also added that “At 3C, we have projects like Lotus Boulevard, Lotus Panache and Lotus 300 with green features,” MagicBricks.
He further said that buyers are becoming more conscious about the benefits of green features which include reduction of operating cost and air conditioning cost, which is by 33 percent, energy savings and water savings up to 50 percent and 30 percent respectively.
