MahaRERA Registers Over 50,000 Real Estate Agents in Eight Years
- Mumbai leads with the highest number of registered agents, exceeding 11,800.
- The Pune region follows with over 8,200 agents, including more than 7,000 within Pune city.
- Thane ranks third with over 6,700 registered agents.
The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has registered more than 50,000 real estate agents since its inception eight years ago, reflecting the significant growth and regulation of the sector. According to data released by the authority, a total of 50,673 agents have been registered so far, of which 31,980 remain actively registered. The remaining 18,693 registrations have been cancelled due to various reasons.
Interestingly, MahaRERA’s reach extends beyond state borders, with agents from as many as 150 cities outside Maharashtra such as New Delhi, Gurugram, Prayagraj, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Goa, Ahmedabad, Patna, and Jammu also registered with the authority.

Other prominent cities like Nashik and Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad) have relatively fewer registrations, with 324 and 343 agents, respectively. The figures underscore MahaRERA’s pivotal role in bringing transparency and formal structure to real estate brokering across and beyond Maharashtra.
