Swedish home furnishings giant IKEA India has opened its first store in Delhi at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden, marking a significant milestone in its North India expansion. Spread over 15,000 sq. ft., the new outlet showcases over 2,000 products, with around 800 available for immediate takeaway, bringing the IKEA experience closer to homes in West Delhi and nearby areas.

The launch strengthens IKEA’s presence in the country’s retail sector, with a sharper focus on accessibility, affordability, and localisation. The Delhi store follows the brand’s online debut in the National Capital Region (NCR) in March this year and forms part of its broader omnichannel strategy, which includes e-commerce, large-format stores, city stores, and Plan and Order Points.

IKEA has implemented a ‘One Click, 30 Minutes Away’ concept for the Delhi store, offering customers faster access to home solutions. While its large-format stores in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Navi Mumbai deliver a full product and experience range, city stores like South Mumbai and now West Delhi provide curated solutions and planning services in high-footfall, urban locations.

In addition, IKEA’s Plan and Order Point in East Bengaluru caters to customised needs such as kitchens and wardrobes, while its e-commerce platform ensures full product range accessibility nationwide. The company also has two large-format experience stores under construction in Gurugram and Noida, further expanding its NCR footprint. The West Delhi store offers a compact yet immersive IKEA experience with over 2,000 display products, including furniture, décor, and home essentials, and 800 available for instant purchase. Shoppers can explore realistic room settings tailored to Delhi homes, use digital tools to plan their interiors, and access personalised services such as home furnishing advice and interior planning. Larger items can be ordered online for home delivery from IKEA’s full range.

A Swedish Café inside the store serves classic IKEA snacks, making it a family-friendly destination. Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, expressed gratitude for the positive reception from North Indian customers since online operations began. “To finally open our first store in the heart of the vibrant capital is a big milestone. We hope to inspire the many Delhites to see their homes in a new way. This new store reflects our commitment to making IKEA more accessible, relevant, and inspiring for many more people in India”, Antoni said. Pooja Grover, Country Expansion Manager, IKEA India, added that the store location aligns with the company’s strategy of positioning itself in vibrant, community-driven spaces. “Pacific Mall gives us a great opportunity to be where our customers already are – in spaces where people come for more than just shopping”, she said.

IKEA currently operates in four Indian markets, with three large-format stores in Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, and Bengaluru; one city store in Worli, Mumbai; and one Plan and Order Point in Bengaluru. The company is also leading carbon-free deliveries across multiple states and cities, including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi-NCR, and several Tier-2 cities. Its distribution infrastructure includes a major centre in Pune and a Customer Distribution Centre in Gurugram, supporting its omnichannel growth.

With the Delhi store launch and upcoming large-format outlets in Gurugram and Noida, IKEA is firmly positioning itself as a key player in India’s evolving retail landscape, offering customers a mix of convenience, customisation, and sustainable delivery solutions. The West Delhi store opening underscores IKEA’s commitment to tailoring its retail formats to meet Indian customers’ needs while staying true to its global brand values of functional design, affordability, and sustainable living.
