DLF Ltd Appoints Three New Directors to Strength its Management
DLF Limited, India's real estate company, is pleased to announce appointment of three directors on its board, subject to requisite approvals. The appointments will allow DLF to further strengthen its management and leverage the vast experience of new directors in the current competitive business environment.
The former President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Mr. Ved Kumar Jain, has been appointed as independent director on the board. Mr. Jain has more than 3 decades of rich experience in advising a number of large corporates on critical issues of management, finance, taxation, and governance. He specialises in direct taxes and has handled complicated tax matters, appeals and tax planning matters for large corporates. Mr. Jain was on the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs under Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He is an author of several books on direct taxes. He is also serving on the boards of a number of private and public sector companies.
The company has also appointed Mr. Mohit Gujral and Mr. Rajeev Talwar as Whole-Time Directors for a period of five years.
Mr. Gujral, who is one of India's finest architects and a dynamic business leader, has a diverse experience of 25 years in developing real estate. Aged about 54 years, Mr. Gujral has incubated and grown a number of businesses and designed buildings in residential, commercial, and retail segments. Mr. Gujral got his degree in Architecture from CEPT, Ahmedabad. Among his key architectural successes are luxury malls such as DLF Emporio & DLF Promenade and luxury holiday homes like Samavana in Kasauli and Samatara in Shimla. Mr. Gujral joined the company in 2010 and is currently Chairman of the company's business unit, responsible for development of company's real estate businesses in various all India locations other than Gurgaon and Western India.
Mr. Talwar, aged about 59 years, was an Indian Administrative Service Officer and has served in various capacities including Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India prior to joining DLF in 2006. Mr. Talwar has rich experience of policy making with exposure to managing a number of public sector enterprises and statutory bodies in sectors such as transport, tourism and infrastructure. He has served on the boards of Delhi Tourism Corporation, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, and Indraprastha Gas Limited. Mr. Talwar, an able administrator, currently has group level responsibilities in various areas.
