Bangalore: Just bought the house of your dreams and confused how to make it look the best in the world? Buying or building you own is tedious in its own way. And now that you have it, you want to color and set it with the best colors and interiors.
Here are a few tips to help you decide how to color your house.
* First, choose a theme of your home You want a traditional Indian folk look, a modern trendy Indo look or an American country sorts. The entire house color depends on the theme you choose it to be. Based on the theme, choose your style (formal or casual) for the rooms.
* Divide color usage roughly like this Light/soft colors for 60 percent of the room in the background, 30 percent in the lighter shade and 10 percent of the brightest colors.
* Paint your space from dark to light, vertically. Apply darker color values on the floor, medium color values on the walls and light values on the ceiling.
* With the theme and style in mind, now settle on a fabric that has 3 or more colors. Choose the background color from the fabric for the walls.
For eg: If you want a calmer and peaceful look when you return from home, you can choose neutral shades like beige, fawn light gray, sky blue etc. Soft Pastel shades are used to give a cool and refreshing appearance. Red denotes excitement, passion and anger. Yellow represents warmth. Most of them these days prefer to use modern fashionable pastel colors for their bedrooms.
Mixing light and dark shades adds freshness and excitement to the room. Hence it is preferred in the living rooms. Wild combination such as red and green, light pink and apple green, blue and orange blend well with some contrasting fabrics, paintings, wall hangings. This is best suitable if you a party arena. If you are more on the soulful side and want a healing ambience then go for olive oil bright yellow, poetic green mint, yellow and rich green botanical hues with some shinny golden tones.
* For the flooring, select a mid-toned color again from the fabric. Pick up bright colors for accessories such as decorative pillows, picture mats etc.
* Lastly, know the color of your clothes We buy clothes in the colors we like to wear because we know we look good in them. Similarly, beautify your rooms in the colors you look good in. if you do not like red, you wouldn't want a red sofa!
