Buy a Plot and Get a Car Free, Say Realtors

Bangalore:  Ahmedabad developers are coming up with innovative marketing strategy to lure customers by offering free cars, gold, silver and LCD television sets, as freebies for plot buyers. With the depreciation in plot values buyers are also exploring options to get attractive freebies.

According to TOI report, a city-based realty firm is practicing the trend by offering one kilogram of silver to 251 members who have booked plot under their scheme near Bagodara. The firm has introduced the offer in January and has helped the firm to attract 40 percent bookings. According to a developer, Arun Thakkar, “The offer is targeted to lure buyers from the middle class segment, who will benefit from the scheme. We get a lot of enquiries from a totally new segment now – young working couples, who would like to invest in the scheme, also because of the easy installments we offer,” reports TOI.

“Most of our clients are middle income group who are looking at plots as a good investment opportunity. To attract them we are giving a car for free to those who make full payments at one go,” says a realtor, who has introduced a 285-plot scheme in the vicinity of Nalsarovar.

Taluka Panchayat officials of Ahmedabad said that over the past three years, more than 250 schemes are introduced along Sanand-Nalsarovar stretch. On this context, a city-based property dealer stated that “Most builders with plotting schemes around Sanand, Bavla, Nalsarovar and Bagodara have purchased land for Rs 100 to Rs 200 square yard between 2004 and 2006. At a time when demand for residential and commercial units within city limits has stagnated, plotting schemes are coming handy to keep the money rotating. As the land is bought cheap, they are ready to give cash discounts and attractive freebies to get clients,” reports TOI.

“Instead of giving free gifts, we are offering a monthly installment scheme with low EMIs. To attract people we recently launched a scheme where if one goes for five year installment, we waive off the fifth year payment as discount,” said Rahul Zunja, who has launched a 770-plot scheme along Bavla-Bagodara highway stretch.
