Stick to a budget:
Be realistic with your budget. Invest in a good treadmill, a dumbbell rack and a cable machine home gym. Ideally it will cost you around 30,000 and upto 2 lakhs for the latest advanced equipments. But never compromise on quality. You wouldn’t want the cable cutting off and 40 kgs falling on your legs.

Carpeting:

This must be of high importance, if you are looking to avoid broken tiles or your floor developing cracks. You can choose from inexpensive EVA foam flooring, horse stall mats. Gorilla Mats (Same as an interlocking horse stall mat but marketed towards weight rooms - same price too. Or, Generic Recycled Rubber Tiles, best bet for price. Do your research carefully.

Equipment:

What’s the point in buying a set of 200kg dumbbells when you won’t lift more than 40? If your somebody who enjoys a run in the park, don’t invest too heavily on that treadmill. Improvise! If you’re just a normal guy looking to maintain muscle, there are 100 variations that can be done just with a pair of dumbbells and barbells. To say it in one line-“separate want from need.”
Elements of Motivation:

Spruce up your exercise space with some motivational quotes. Pictures of your role model. Spend at least 3000 for a good audio setup. It has been scientifically proven that music can push yourself to new levels of fitness, of course keeping in mind that you exercise while listening to the tracks.
Mirror Mirror on the wall:
The mirror is not for admiring your perfect figure or whining about your love handles. It is for a purpose far beyond that. “Technique” is the magic word. One wrong move on a shoulder exercise can lead to an excruciating tendon tare. So make sure you examine your form in the mirror before executing an exercise.
