The most awaited biggest Delhi Development Authority DDA Housing Scheme 2014 was launched on September 1st to offer 25,034 flats of different categories namely EWS, LIG, HIG and MIG in Delhi suburbs like Dwaraka, Rohini and Narela where 22,627 flats are 1 BHK flats named as LIG flats and 512 flats are newly constructed flats and the last date was extended up to Oct 15th.

On final submission date, DDA has received a total number of 7.5 Lakh applications where 16 Lakh applications were sold. It means that 55 percent of the applicants who bought the application forms did not apply. Although, there was a marginal increase, the number of applications received for its smaller housing scheme of 16,000 flats in 2010 was some 7.4 Lakh applications; the raise may not be sizeable by considering the number of flats on offer.

DDA has tried hardly to grab the applicant’s interest towards its biggest housing scheme by extending the last date of submission from 9th Oct to 15th Oct. The DDA flats offered for Middle income people are ranging from Rs 7 Lakh to Rs 1.2 crore. It is clearly perceptible that out of 30 applicants only 1 applicant will be the end-user to own a DDA flat after lucky draw of lots where as remaining applicants will be the patrons who lose out a chance of fulfilling their dream of buying a home in Delhi suburbs.

DDA Draw of lots was announced to be held on Nov 10, which will be supervised by three members headed by a retired High court Judge and two IT professionals.
