Prized Accomplishment(s):
Bringing about transparency and accountability in the organization and introducing system improvement in the organization for preventing fraud and corruption.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
Yes, when I joined Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd. in Dec.1992, the Vigilance Department was in its infancy. But when I retired from this organization, it was a full-fledged and well equipped department. From childhood, it traveled to manhood.
Professional Strengths:
Maintaining a low profile in the organization and achieving results with love and humility.
Required Reading:
I have been contributing my articles to Silicon India on Ethics Management. Of course, I have published some books interpreting some difficult books of the Bible.
Career Profile:
I have retired on 31st May 2009.
Other Thoughts:
I want the professions to hold the candle of integrity in their hands and to reach the top positions in Corporate Sector. Please do not migrate companies to companies just for the sake of pay increase but grow with the company which gave you an opportunity in your life to grow.
Contribution to the field
You have to leave your imprint in your organization when you leave it. The officials in my department were exhorted to make judgments on merit. The system improvements made in the systems and procedures of the company resulted in considerable savings to the company.
The Journey So Far:
By virtue of hard work and honesty, I climbed the ladder in the Corporate world. It was a like a snake and ladder game. At times, the snake had bitten me and was relegated to the backstage because those who were dishonest and correct stood in my ascending the ladder.
Degrees That Matter:
Of course, professional qualifications relating to your job skill are necessary.
Working Life Management:
Love your family and your colleagues in company.
Role Model:
In fact I did not find any role model from the organizations wherein I had served. I just followed the footsteps of Jesus Christ, my role model.
Growth Strategy:
Leader is not grown but made through righteousness and justice. A leader who is grown through merely knowledge is not worthy of leadership.
Plans For The Future:
After retirement from the services of Corporate Sector, I am now finding avenues to mentor young students in Business schools and young professionals in Corporate Sector.
The Decisions That Matter
Showing a human face while taking decisions affecting the career of employees in the organization. You should get rid of your mindset for following rules and regulations. Employees are not made for rules but rules are made for them.
Job Profile:
It was vigilance and compliance profile. Vigilance means remaining alert and playing the role of whistleblower in your organization.
