Ensuring growth
Although at the verge of my retirement from the Bank, I feel still a lot of fire has been left in me and I feel like contributing to the society in general and bank officers in particular through the vast experience gathered while working at various positions and different situations in the Bank. My interest in reading and writing keeps me abreast with the latest developments in the Industry and recently after passing out a certificate examination of NISM, I feel confident in engaging myself for adding to my knowledge and education kitty in future also.It has been a wonderful journey so far as the life has not been so easy for me in the Bank due to the risk factors associated with the finance portfolio but retaining the basic fabric of my honesty intact during the entire working span of more than 34 years makes me feel a satisfied person at this stage. Being in the company of intelligent and smart team of marketing professionals during my last stint as AGM(Mkt)gives me feeling of youth
Relevant Courses and certification
Life is a learning process and one keeps on acquiring professional knowledge and experience by working in diverse fields of accounting. Being a banker, the first thing which comes to mind immediately after joining the bank is to appear and pass the JAIIB and CAIIB exams which not only adds to the professional value but also provides financial benefits in terms of increments to the employees. These exams also help in qualifying for the promotional criteria in deciding eligibility by the various banks. The one who are dealing in sale of mutual funds need to pass the NISM certificate exam and IRDA certification for those who are dealing in Insurance business. These two certification become necessary in view of Govt guidelines as most of the Banks are involved in selling of these products to their customers for increasing non interest income in the light of pressures on the bottom line due to severe competition in the Industry.
Couple of years from now
After my retirement in Sept 2013, I have decided to keep myself busy by involving with the banking fraternity in particular and suffering employees in general. My long experience in the field level banking and experience in the Regional Offices/ now at the Corporate Office has equipped me with the sort of expertise required to handle the problems of the management as well as the suffering employees. Whereas by providing technical support to the employees I will be providing succur to those who have suffered due to their lapses in normal course of business but at the same time not compromising with my own values. I wont be feeling comfortable while taking up the cases of apparently corrupt people who intentionally coerced in loss to the institution.
Important decision
I have always been considered as one of the most successful officers by my superiors as I have proved through my style of working in the field. My first step has always been to make my staff comfortable as these are the persons who can take your vision and mission forward through their work and conduct. Without compromising on the quality , I used to identify the best in my command area and after constant pursuation, I used to convert these contacts into my customers bringing a sense of surprise on the faces of all my adversaries and top authorities also. I was never afraid of taking decisions due to my inner inherent strength of honesty and belongingness for the bank. MY resolve in going to whatever posting decided by the management has been a source of cordial relationships as I never yearned for placing me at a particular station or a post. My smiling and always ready to help attitude in helping out my colleagues keeps me in the thick of the things in the Bank
