Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
My father is a retd DRDO scientist and i am youngest among three brothers. I have a 2 year old kid and my wife is an IT Engineer and works from home
Changes in the industry
From mere testing(evaluating the actual results to expected outcomes) the QA has now matured to a point where the responsibility of the whole product- be it the user experience; be it the business workflow validation; everything lies on shoulders of QA
Essential Advice
Testing requires acumen and its an art in itself. Conventionally, most people think that testing is about searching for loopholes; rather start off with thinking on how to improve the product / make it better.

Establish and follow processes closely. Keep improving the processes. identify key team players and delegate wisely. Do not do micro-management.

Points of inflection
I started off with large sized organizations and then switched off to small sized start-ups as it provided more room for growth along with challenges.
Also, i switched from service based organizations to product based organizations.
Tech trends to watch out for
Automation is in. Knowledge of tools coupled with basic programming skills and hands-on scripting language like Ruby / JavaScript may take you places.
Currently working at
I work as a solution architect at correlation research. I primarily look after providing turn key enterprise-grade mobile solutions focusing on IPhone / Ipad / Andriod / WP7. This also includes lots of server side instigation with services. Domain-wise my expertise is in investment / banking.
Most Important Decisions
Switching from service based industry to product based which gave me an opportunity to hon my skills in a certain domain while providing me opportunity to work on diverse technology areas.
Plans for the Future
I want to be a key member of a innovative product which is impacting / improving lives of people.
