Qualities needed to become a successful leader
Lead by the front and take responsibility if things go wrong, But if it succeeds give full credit to your friends and colleagues who worked on your ideas.
My role model
Narayana Murthy and Nandan of Infosys, Author Rashmi Bansal of IIMA, President Kalaam former President of India, Sam Petroda and so many who have fired the imagination of youngsters. Swamy Vivekananda who has and continues to inspire many generations. Another is late Swamy Chinmayanandaji
Initiative to develop a country
To start with be honest and patient and do not expect to become rich and famous overnight. You must expect failures and negatives from friends. Becoming famous and rich has to await. Gather friends around who have positive approach and are honest even when they appear to give you a negative comment
My achievements
I did my little bit about creating awareness about impact of high level of Electromagnetic Radiations from Mobile Communication Base Stations. Modestly The DoT was persuaded to put various regulatory practices and adopt technical measures. It is an on going process.
Influenced by
My home environment where we had not heard of cheating or stealing what belongs to some one else, Thanks to my parents
Important decision
Fight for your legitimate rights, even by filing Court Cases if necessary when I could have simply allowed tings to pass. RTI was a good tool.
Brief description about me
I was a telecom professional in my career before retirement.Later I became a consumer activist and now taking things easy due to certain personal factors, I watch out for new developments in this and other related fields to be aware of what is happening
My family background
Father a school teacher, and mother a god fearing housewife, both are no longer alive. I am now 82 years of age and am keen on seeing things happening. I have a soft corner for people who have devoted a large part of their life to social causes and are real gems of the Society. I believe I can help them much more than what support I extend at present. My two sons are well settled. They are well settled in their careers and family and are very affectionate to us
Thoughts on Education system of our country
I think too much emphasis is on rote learning too little out door exposure. In colleges too opportunities to interact with out side professionals and inducting them in teaching with students may be good. Like internship for medicals, make internship for all other professions ( useful trades such as carpentry, masonry plumbing, automobiles, A/C, Journalism, tourism, hotel management, Para Medical courses, Nano sciences, and IT) are of great help to create employment and wealth creation to all
Important lesson learned
Enthusiasm can and does wonders. Never be afraid of failing as they can give you you valuable lessons. You can then avoid them and proceed.
Degree that I recommend
Not really.
My strongest skill
I am a good listener with hopefully intelligent interjections
More about myself
Identify the real life heroes and organizations who have made a difference to particularly the disadvantaged sections of our society and help them to expand their reach by supporting and supplementing their resources
Couple of years from now
I am 82 and am reasonably healthy and it would be great if I can live up to see when a literate India is free from hunger and disease
