At Lexicon, Reporting to the Chief Operation Officer at Lexicon
PR, I’m incharge of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the
media department. I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
media activity, i.e. "across the transom" media interactions.
As the lead for the media division of Lexicon, I’m also
responsible for managing the media staff's day-to-day activities
and development of internal media management systems. I deal
with all the external media communications from the client’s
end i.e writes and edits ongoing communications interactions with
members of the media, e.g. press releases, tip sheets, e-mail
communications, etc. I’m constantly involved in identifying
video and still pictures in response to day-to-day media requests
and communications. I am in-charge of implementing and
overseeing some of the tactics related to the strategies in the
long-term public relations plan that will enhance and promote the
client’s reputation and visibility worldwide, i.e. press
releases and calls, media rounds, relationship building meets
etc. Central to the implementation of the CEO’ and COO’s
strategic direction in handling media contacts during times of
clients crisis or major breaking news, I works closely with
members of client servicing team and the communications staff
(client’s end) to coordinate outreach and story development.
My major responsibility lies in ensuring that I build
networks with national media outlets – print and electronic –
in order to develop meaningful, dependable relationships. I am
responsible for providing media training and counseling for
management teams charged with responding to issues.
