Growth Strategy:
Leadership is really about changing the game, its about going beyond the known realms and working with different paradigms and excelling every single day. The only way to do this to be, be aware of the changes occuring in the environment, forecast probable future trends and be a catalyst in change.
Job Profile:
In the consulting space, the entire canvas is about Acquiring clients, Building Relationships & Delivering Value every single time. There can be absolutely no compromise on quality of deliverables. This space is also about coaching clients, mostly CEO's and the challenges they face are humoungus.
Working Life Management:
My children are now grown up,so work is life and every thing is balanced:-),But for other working mothers my advice would be outsource, outsource, outsource all low value items. This increases the amount of time one can spend on the A items ie caoching your children, hobbies, health and fitness etc.
The Decisions That Matter
Career success is a result of building on your personality strengths with your job.I have an innate ability to teach, so moving into a L&D role in HP was a dramatic career move. Being part of C Suit , where a culture transformation was required was an intense learning experience.
Done Differently:
I would focus on the career front for a couple of more years before getting married and starting a family.I would network and build a brand for myself and take a whole lot of unrelated courses.I would also move out of my core discipline HR and work for a couple of years in marketing or operations.
Advice For New Professionals:
The generation Y is already smart, the only advice i have to offer them is build on core and distinctive competencies. Every day there are going to people better, smarter than you, so why should a company hire YOU? What do you offer that is different? I would want them to better their teaming skills
Degrees That Matter:
psychological instruments like MBTI, DISC etc, Personnel Assessor certifications for competencies, courses on psychology and statistics . Knowledge of ERP all these are a definite advantage.
Required Reading:
What got you here wont get you there, winning, 5 dysfunctions of a team, Harvard Bisiness Review,First Break all the rules, There are so many the list is endless.
Plans For The Future:
I want to work with youth and young people help them enhance their leadership skills and also help them succeed. Working for an NGO is something i see myself devoting my time to in the future.
Other Thoughts:
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.
Role Model:
There are many, Aamir Khan is the person i admire most. He has changed the game of indian cinema , his serial of satyameva jayate, his life. I really admire him.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
The world we live in itself has changed.Today organizations have survive and thrive in a two speed world.Their strategies have to be different, more agile, futuristic the old rules dont hold good anymore.Apart from domain knowledge, cross functional, cross culture,Technology & Teaming skills required
