Been member of the pre-opening team of the resort. Responsible
for a team of 16 butlers. Had operational knowledge of all Front
Office equipment and computer systems. Keeping abreast of all
emergency procedures, hotel promotions, product knowledge, VIP
arrivals, upcoming events and brief direct subordinates
accordingly so that all butlers are able to answer guest requests
and questions. Daily coordination with housekeeping for Room
status for VIP arrivals and free individual travellers. Working
and leading the team of professionals and to liaison with other
support units in hotel such as Finance, Housekeeping, Information
Technology, Engineering to ensure that all operational issues are
resolved. Accomplished a set of administrative duties such as
leading and attending meeting, writing reports and memos and
other specific duties related to the job function. Assisting the
FOM in analyzing and approving discounts, rebates, late
checkouts, upgrades, telephone usage, rate variance report in
accordance with policies. Preparation of roaster, compilation of
reports and allocation of Villas to butlers were part of daily
tasks. Checking on various special requests and needs of all
guest are recognized and met. To check and regulate all the
procedures to make sure they are followed as per the Standard
operating procedures. To provide continuous support to butlers
and to enhance their motivation. Taking performance appraisal of
all butlers in every three months and making training plan
depending on strengths and weaknesses of individuals. Regularly
taking inventory of all the stationery and sending in store
requisition accordingly. . Was actively involved in making the
standard operating procedures for the butlers under the guidance
of Front Office Manager.
