I am Lean/Six Sigma, and PMP Certified. Apart from this during my IT-programing days I did couple of Microsoft certifications also. Certifications are an excellent source of learning and helps to keep you updated and ahead of the peck. I believe appropriate certifications nurture seeds of success in your professional life as you are better equipped.
Qualities needed to become a successful leader
Good leaders are those who can make their team win in any kind of situation. The leader should be able to get the best even in the worst of times.
Any person inspiring to become good leader should be honest and ready to accept the mistakes.
The ability to bring the customer into the boardroom is seen as one of the top leadership skills today. To become a good leader it is important being “flexible not floppy”, one should know when to be resolute and pragmatic.
Most importantly, leader should form a clear view of the future and make sure they have “the right resources and the right talent” to help get there.
Any person inspiring to become good leader should be honest and ready to accept the mistakes.

I am fascinated by a poem that I read somewhere -

My role model is Steve Jobs, he is really inspiring.
His life is remarkable story of self-creation - whether it was in the early days, when he manipulated Steve Wozniak into building products for him to sell, or later in his career, when he was struggling to shape NeXT from scratch, or even after returning to Apple, when he created entirely new products, Jobs had no one to tell him how to realize his vision.
He made high-stakes decisions on his own, with little to rely on besides his well-honed intuition.
Jobs’ real legacy as a human being was “His passion,” and his dedication to realize that passion into dizzying success for himself, his employees, and his company.

Couple of years from now
In five years I hope to be in a role that impacts and contributes to my company, and society. I am interested in a creative and challenging work environment that will best utilize my team building and problem solving skills.
I am hoping that my background in learning technologies will lend to my growth and success. As I grow in my incoming and subsequent roles I hope to bring others up the ladder/provide to the personal and professional growth of the junior team members.

When reflecting on personal influences in my life, no one has had a greater impact than my father. He is and always continues to be a positive role model as a father.
My dad's teachings were a cure for my selfishness. He taught me to consider everyone as a part of my family and taught me how to love people by sharing and giving.
He taught me about life: making wise decisions, firmly standing on your principles, being emotionally strong, staying contented with what you have, keeping relationships and simply being happy.

Brief description about me
I was born and brought up in educationist family. My second name "Shelley" is actually inspired by great english poet P.B. Shelley. True to my namesake, I developed passion for poetry in childhood and written many myself. Since my father's job was transferable so my school studies happened actually across India. This has helped me to see, live, and experience great regional cultures of India. Have completed my graduation from Delhi University and joined IT-Software field.
Thoughts on Education system of our country
Education right from university to primary level has been subjected to lot of experimentation. The aim is improve the prevailing system of education. But, every society has its needs and aspirations and education, should be shaped and molded according to the needs of the society.
If we really want to improve our education we should focus our attention to the elementary stage. The primary schools situated in far flung areas do not have even the basic amenities which are required for the system. If we succeed in strengthening our primary education, the basic purpose of getting 100% literacy can be achieved.
At middle and secondary stages there should be more stress on teacher education. With the changing times new avenues are opening up and the teachers should be well prepared to face the new challenges.
The higher education should be made more job oriented and conducive to industrial growth and scientific progress of our country.

Important lesson learned
The most important lesson I learned is that though persistence is courageous but even the boldest person should know when to give up. Always remember that giving up is never a bad thing, just as long as you know you’ve tried your best.
Ensuring success
My motto in life is to learn, grow and perform. It is very important to have one's life vision and this vision has sub-parts divided in profession, spiritual, and relationship spheres. It is very important to have balance of all these in your life vision. One cannot hope to excel in one and lag in other. I am very much committed in making myself professionally, spiritually and personally (in relationships) mature. The only tool to have continuous growth is through learning.

During my career stint in NIIT, I have implemented, and delivered many software projects for top fortune companies like ING, Cadbury, Heineken, Dell, British Petroleum, etc.
Nothing in this world can match the rewarding, appreciative words of such prestigious, and happy clients. My moment of proud is seeing happy and contended client faces.
