in terms of Infrastructure and Network. o Managing IT
Infrastructure & Network (NWSM) Opex & Capex for East Hub
(One-Airtel) business. IT Opex saving average 20% in 07-08 FY per
circle.  Restructuring of IT bandwidth for CIT and CCT based
cost, redundancy, security and flexibility.  Participating in
monthly review meetings with all Partners (IBM & Nortel) and
stake holders (AES, BTSOL, PGCIL, Railtel Tulip and other vendors
etc) and RCA process has been initiated.  Developing Ring
based fiber backbone architecture to introduce multi-providers
for more redundancy. Data Center Hubs  East Hub Data
Center having capacity to cater 23mn subs has been implemented.
East Hub Data Center migration for CIT (Classical Information

without any unplanned business outage.  East Data Bandwidth
containing 1700 Mbps capacity out of 4 STM1, 500 Mbps on
Gigi-Enthernet MPLS network having on Ring Topology.  Colombo
Data Center encompassing to cater 2.5 mn sub base by FY
’09-10.  Hub Data Center equipped with all Blade Servers
(P-series 550 and above). Having 33*2 TB capacity SAN Storage for
Pre & Post Paid Data Ware-house, Omnidocs and PACS servers and
IBM Tape library - 3584 Series (completely automated).  Tier-
III Contact Centre Technology is completely endowed with Nortel
MPS-1K ( having 1920,1440 and 700 ports in Cluster), ERS-8600,
high-end Application Processor , CCS servers , M1 , Passport
-7440 to cater 23mn Mobile subscribers in East.  2000 Mbps
bandwidth is using for CCT Voice, which involves 25 nos. DS3
media are connected with 5 Circles and three separate call
centers ( i.e. IBM Daksh , HTMT & Page-Link ) with MPS1K & MSCs
to make congestion free call center network with
high-availability by making the fiber network in Ring and 3:1
ratio redundancy.  Central & Hub driven Network &
Infrastructure projects: Decentralization of Easy Recharge (LAPU)
to east Hub. Firewall Redundancy Project (Project Leap Frog),
Decentralization of OBD services. One-Airtel Domain migration to
all Users connecting Bharti Network. Application integrated with
Netscaler on Citrix to save the OPEX in Bandwidth cost for retail
users and distributors in different part of East
locations. Significant Highlights  Played a key role for
making optimum utilization of IT NWSM and CCT resources; reducing
41.3mn in East 07-08 FY.  Initiated saving at implementation
of (L3) Hub Data Center Project on 13ksq.ft by Rs. 0.5cr
(Infrastructure Capex budget Rs. 7.0 cr. and actual Capex Rs.
6.5crs), actual BOQ is over projected BOQ.  Taken initiatives
in start the Operation Committee (OC), Circle level with
cross-functional stake-holders to review operational issue and
permanent solution by analyzing the root cause.  Efficiently
handled the process to design the solutions for Capacity
Planning, Problem and Incident Management for Bharti Information
Security Process as per infrastructure line requirements.
 Effectively implemented: o Finance –  Bandwidth
Manager, Citrix, Netscaler and VPN in Data Backbone save 20% of
total b/w consumption.  Cost effective solution for both CIT
(Classical Information Technology) and CCT (Contact Center
Technology) for saving in Opex (Actual vs. AOP). o Customer –
 Centralized and Hub based Network Management tools i.e.
Vital Net (by Ericson) and Tivoli to monitor critical resources
and network.  Zone based Data Network Architecture and
topology at Circle level to ensure 99.9% backbone uptime. o MPLS
Network over East Backbone and Migration to Bharti’s own fiber
network. Got Citation Award from IT Director at ’06-’07
ITiCOP in Delhi.  Actively involved in planning operations to
save 41.3 mn in East NWSM Opex for FY 07-08.  Significantly
contributed towards generating 100% uptime for both Data and Call
Center voice backbone uptime for last 3Qs.  Conducted audit
at Kolkata, West Bengal and Orissa ; received ‘SAT’ ratings
with scores 78, 78 and 67; out of 13 circles audited across PAN
India 4 circles got ‘SAT’ ratings. Received Award from CISO.
 Established Retailers and Distributors network thru VPN
which saves Capex & Opex against regular connectivity. Got Award
from ED & CEO at ‘06-’07 annual ECF for West Bengal Circle.

Eastern Zone with 100% uptime of the Sify Network.  Providing
technical support & solutions to the customers subscribing for
Internet services, MPLS VPN services, IP VPN services etc
 Conducting ISO Audit for East NOC
infrastructure.  Responsible for: o Maintaining the
Network operations in the SIFY NOCs in entire east. 90 nos. of
Leased Circuits connecting the NOC to the various locations as
well as Channelised E1 circuits, PRI & E1R2 circuits for the
accessibility of the customers. o Troubleshooting various
network related bottleneck problems o Managing around 150 nos.
of the IWAY & 50 nos. of CTO/MDUs connected over RF links
operating at 5.7 GHZ in the different locations of Kolkata &
entire east. o Enabling fiber & making a Mesh network for all

(Cisco 7206, 3640, 3660, 2600), Switches (Cisco 3550, 2950,
Summit 48), RAS (3COM).  Actively involved in coordinating
with BSNL, RIL, BTNL, VSNL, RPG, POWERGRID, RAILTEL for the
maintenance of the Leased (Backbone, GW) Circuits, DS3 & Fiber
(MEN).  Participated in transferring the entire DATACENTRE
(L2) from Calcutta Primary Mangalam NOC to Lansdowne Tower new
NOC.
