Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
We are a family of 4 father, mother, myself and my younger brother. Father is currently retired from CRPF as an ADIGP and Mother is an housewife. My brother is working with Hilton group in Goa
The Decisions That Matter
The most important decision I took was to change my job from the travel and tourism industry to the real estate industry.
Career Profile:
my current responsibilities is to handle clients issues, prepare policy related papers, MOU's, overlooking staff roster, prepare annual budget for sales team and keep a track of the same.
Other Thoughts:
Apart from travelling 4 hrs a day to office and back I am still able to pursue by dream of bodybuilding.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
as compared to the time when I started my carrier the major change that has happened is that a lot of competition has come up and the people who are not ready to update themselves or are not adaptable to change find very difficult to progress.
Job Profile:
I am currently working as an Sr. executive with the Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (real estate division). My role is to handle clients issues, prepare policy related papers, MOU's, overlooking staff roster, prepare annual budget for sales team and keep a track of the same.
Growth Strategy:
the major steps taken by me is to
1) keep myself updated with the industry.
2) develop my team members in such a way that some one may be ready to take over my responsibilities.
3) keep myself ready for changes in the organisation and to adapt with it as soon as possible
4) take new resposibilities
Advice For New Professionals:
always be ready to learn, change and adapt. there will be a lot of time when you will feel to do things that is neither good for the company nor as per your principles, but the people who are able to cope with such situations without selling themselves are the people who win the race in long run.
The Journey So Far:
I started my carrier in 1999 with the job is security industry. but after October 2002 I went for further studies in Travel Industry and worked for 4.5 years. however after that I shifted to real estate industry for better opportunity and has been working for 4 years. cust. service was the main role
Degrees That Matter:
the main degree required in the real estate industry is the MBA. With regards to the travel and tourism minimum certification course required will be the IATA/UFTAA Foundation level. After that the same can be upgraded with advance level along with the work.
Done Differently:
I would like to build a process where the customer complaints are not only sorted out the a specified time (which still is not in place in many industries) but to also have a compensation structure for clients for such delays. British Airways has such a structure.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
I am proud of the fact that once I step forward to sort out a client issue will not back off till the time a solution is found agreeable both to the client and management. Considering this my company had indeed sent me to Kuwait was an event and with my team we were able to sort out 95% of cases
Plans For The Future:
I see myself as an senior manager for a CRM team surely not confined to only real estate but any industry as the customer service in any industry across the world has only one goal customer satisfaction and I know I am good in that
Role Model:
as of with the leadership quality I am inspired by Adlof Hitler. However Mr. Ratan Tata has also inspired me a lot with his quality of working not against his principles no matter what the situation is.
