My important career decision

Firstly i wanted to become an Heart Surgeon, but landed in IT field. I started as an trainer in testing field as achived hieghts. That was my learning phase and i took many valuable lessons be it professional or personal. That was my first step in the coorporate world. and that was the point i decided this is my field and i am going to explore it more... :). I joined Datamatics and travelled places. Working with Datamatics was very good experience. After marriage i joined Cognizant. Working with Cognizant is different . and i am taking my lessons here too. Want to reach heights here... :)

My strongest Skill

As i a software test engg. i am very good at testing products. Analyzing them i all the different possible way, and most important trying to break developers code... :). I have explored my test tools Starting from WinRunner, QTP, Silk Performer, Load Runner and many free tools. The tool i liked the most was QTP, not because it was user friendly, but i was able to create my own scripts (not just record and playback).

Views about 'Tech product Introduction is weak among Indians'

We have lot of technical talent, but people are using there talent for making money, they have become money minded. Travelling abroad, working for foreign companies and creating very good products for them is today's trend. People study in our country and put their knowledge in our country itslef will definately mark our country also in the world market.

My achievement

There are many. But the first one which i would like to share is that when i was working as a software trainer. Students used to ask specially to attend my classes. This used to make me feel very proud... :).
In corporate world i received many appreciations,,, but none of them is as close as the first one.

I want to become a manager, managing a bunch of projects. handling teams, solving their problems.

Making job easier

communication, focus and process helps me alot in my job. I need to understand what i need to test. There are certain testing proccess followed in out organization which need to bid with. So if you are good at commuincations, focused and process oriented you will defialtely lead.

I am Aparna Varade (Lokhande). working as Product assurance engg at Cognizant. Cognizant is a leading provider of information technology, consulting and business-process services. I am working as Product assurance engg., testing and qualifying products.

Challenges faced in job

Putting myself in users shoes is most challenging. I always try to think what will be final user actions and accordingly i need to make my product better and usable by testing it more and more. In future this will help me gathering and understanding user requirements.

Family Background

I come from a very normal family. Mother, Father, elder sister and two younger brothers. i have seen my parents struggle to pay our school fees. Both of them used to work day and night so we can go to school. I have got many good lessons from my parents. My prarents were never ashamed of doing any work amy it very small or very big. My parents are my biggest inspriation and my family is my strenght.

Managing professional as well as personal life

I am married and having a cute little baby. My husband, he also from IT supports me alot. as my baby is still very small my mother helps me in taking care of her while me and my husband are at work. Sometimes it becomes diffcult to manage, but having my mother and husband around makes things easier.

My role model

My mother and father are my role model and they inspire me alot. These are teh people who have taught me to fight against all odds to overcome all the diffculties in life. They both at this old age also are eager to learn new things and help people around them to gain knowledge.
