Areas for the Future
Manual Testing will continue to be the dominant effort in the future while Automation will continue to be in the main focus where we will find companies investing in hiring technical personnel, who possess expertise in open source tools rather than pondering money over conventional licensing tools.
Currently working at
My current job profile empowers me to deal with a variety of challenging duties – People Management, Project Management, Test Management and Client Management satisfying Product Delivery Cycles defined. Hands-on-Testing is what it demands at times and helps me retain my innate Testing skills active.
Most Important Decisions
Finding a job immediately after my futile attempt to start a own venture.
A Fine Balance:
I am not sure if someone really can define and justify this. When work demands me more, I will need to make myself available and when life demands me, I do the same... and plan Annual Vacation to recharge myself.
Changes in the industry
When I started my career in Testing, it was more of a "Lightly Cooked" dish and has been evolved now to a more or less "Profusely Cooked" one.
Tech trends to watch out for
Testing in Cloud Environment and Mobility are a must watch for me and of course the evolution of web2.0 is also quite interesting. These trends provide you with an opportunity to keep you practicing brainy cells :-) means a lot to learn, contribute, practice, innovate and excel.
Role Model
There is not one such but are many who have inspired me and still inspiring me every other day… I believe that every person carries at least one influencing quality irrespective of his/her stature/nature and I always try to look for and learn that in every person I happen to know or work with.
The Journey So Far
It has its own ups and downs but has been "GREAT & RICH" from a learning perspective at the same time awarding & rewarding as well. I can recall many contentment moments of my career, such as toiling-over few projects which were in deep trouble and effectually retained them.
Required Reading
Tech Forums are the best source of knowledge for whoever want(s) to excel. I believe that you get to learn from the discussion forums about things (at least few) beyond your imagination, which is invaluable.
Plans for the Future
Successfully operating a Project Account independently.
Points of inflection
The inflection point in my career was a dithering attempt to start our own company with few of my friends in USA. It appeared to be a pleasant surprise for that moment 881984 the proposal was at a right angle to my career. That did not work for numerous reasons but has been the biggest learning so far
Most Important Lessons
1. Importance of “Being focused” irrespective of the problem count and their intensity you are dealing with
2. Carry a positive outlook, always
3. Not to get carried away with the circumstances
4. Importance of assessing Risk for every effort
5. Do not expect to have only sensible workmates around.
