Import and Distribution of specialist chemicals as an
Asst. Commercial Manager since July 2005. Warehouse
: • Co-ordinate with the warehouse to settle the issue related
to received stock, rejection, goods received note
inspection. • Co-ordinate with the accounts department
regarding any dispute matter of the vendor. • Ensuring
effective material handling through proper stacking & adopting
FIFO safety measures at warehouse to enable smooth and timely
movement of stocks through the network. • Physical
verification of stock on monthly basis. Logistics and
Transportation: • Managing Logistics functions, negotiating
with transporters, freight forwarder and clearing & forwarding
agents for cost effective transport solution and clearance units
pertaining to cost, quality and delivery norms. • Monitoring
the fleet of vehicles and transporters, ensuring on time delivery
and transit norms and analyzing the loss in transit and
undertaking measures. • Ensuring adequate insurance coverage
for goods in transit / storage for all centre / units and
minimize cost (premium) through comprehensive
actions. • Developed the logistics network for facilitating
the cost effective and seamless movement of stocks from warehouse
to customers. Banking : • Clean & timely negotiation of
documents as per the terms of LC, D/P, D/A, SDDP etc. •
Ensuring import documents are routed through bank & collection of
the same well before the arrival of consignment. • Interfacing
with banks for smooth execution of LCs, both from supplier and
from customers, seeking amendment if any required. Documentation
& MIS : • Adapting systems / policies / procedures for
ensuring smooth functioning of procurement and materials
management functions. Taking adequate measures to ensure
compliance with ISO quality standards. • Monitoring MIS
reports with a view to apprise top management of the routine
trading activities viz, sales, distribution management, stock
control, import schedule, projected custom duty etc. • Vetting
various documents (pre-shipment & post-shipment) to facilitate
smooth export and import operations. Commercial (Import &
Export) Operations : • Managing import and export (air & sea)
operations keeping compliance with custom laws, notification,
tariffs, EXIM policy for imports. • Taking care of entire
office admission. • New vendor identification and development
a part of negotiation & keeping vendor database and independently
handle the entire vendor payment system. Liaison/
Co-ordination • Liaisoning with overseas clients regarding
orders & receivables, logistics, inventory, warehousing and
shipping functions. • Following up on insurance claims and
direct alignment with the sales and marketing
department. • Interacting with Government Departments &
Agencies, freight agents & shipping lines to ensure minimum cost
and timely effectiveness. II. Worked with M/S. Rishraj
Filaments Ltd, engaged in manufacturing and 100 % export of
Polyester Staple Fibre and related products as an Export In
charge from February, 2000 to June 2005. Exports • Scrutiny
of Pre-shipment and Post-shipment documents as per Letter of
credit and to send the same to the Bank for Negotiation.
• Production planning and Export Execution as per
pre-shipment plan. Imports • Production planning and
import execution as per pre-shipment plan.
• Documentations, calculations of duties on imported
material. • Import transaction on high seas basis. • Import
transaction on indenting basis • Sending required pre shipment
documents to agent for consignment clearance. • Forms of
payment – calculation of advance, commission to buying
agent. • Corresponding with bank, overseas suppliers for
import transactions. • Central Warehouse Corporation for
Import consignment, if required. Advance
Licence • Calculation of FOB, CIF, value as per prescribed
norms and licence application fees and online
application. • Preparing Annexe for DEEC
registration. • Preparing Bond for customs to clear import
consignment. • Redeeming licence on completion of export
obligation. • Appling to DGFT for certificate on licence
redemption and sending for customs endorsement. • Sending
certificate to DGFT for closure and cancelling bond at customs.
DEPB • Follow up on EP, MR documents from agent and online
application. • Licence to CHA for custom verification at
concern ports. • Transferring custom verified licence to
interested clients. DGFT • Coordinating with directorate,
head of the department for various obligations related to Advance
licence, DEPB, DFRC. ECGC • Appling for credit limit
application for new buyer’s and enhancement of credit limit for
• the existing buyers. • ECGC coverage taken on actual or
provisional bases as per the requirement. • Filling monthly
returns on or before 15th of every month. • Submitting every
month shipment declaration on regular
bases. Insurance • Getting policy for every
consignment. • Negotiating of premium rate for marine and war
risk insurance. Logistics • Arranging for container for
factory stuffing, trucks for docks stuffing as per
requirement. • Arranging logistics from place of loading to
final destination. • Negotiation for better and feasible
freight rates. • Laisioning for B/L and for other necessary
documents.
