I am an engineering graduate from the University of Pune, India with honours in Computer Science (BE Computer). Deeply interested in GIS, I want to pursue a masters degree in Geo Informatics. I have just started my professional career in the field of GIS. I have done some work in the field of GIS. My final year BE project was in GIS. I am currently employed as a Trainee GIS developer in Pune.

Working on an ARM based device "Mobilis". I am independently
developing a GPS- GIS, web- based Java-script application which
reads latitude- longitude co- ordinates from a SIRF GPS receiver
and places a marker at that position on the world map. I am
making use of the Google Maps API v3 and using Google Map as the
base layer. I have developed a number of GIS applications
using Google Maps API like creating a polygon on-the-fly and
calculating its geographic area, finding out the latitude
longitude values at the mouse position on the map, creating a
polygon by reading information from an XML file. Another
application involves a pointer moving from the start location to
the end location provided by the user, while simultaneously
providing the directions, distance covered and the speed of the
pointer, which in this case is a Vehicle icon.

Worked on a GIS based project titled "Automated GIS Toolkit" at
iWorkTechnologies, Pune during 2009- 10. During the span of this
project I worked on several open source technologies like
PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Geoserver, OpenLayers, GRASS and TIGER
shapefiles. I had developed a shell script to automate the entire
GIS process. This involved downloading TIGER shapefiles of a
particular US state/county , converting them to sql files and
uploading them to a PostgreSQL database after creating it at run
