A recruitment consultant's role is demanding and diverse,
involving:
· Using sales, business development and marketing
techniques in order to attract business from client companies;
· Building relationships with clients;
· Developing a good
understanding of what client companies do and their work culture;
· Advertising vacancies appropriately by drafting and placing
adverts using media (e.g. website);
· Headhunting -
identifying and approaching suitable candidates;
· Receiving
and reviewing applications, managing interviews of short-listed
candidates;
· Checking suitability of applicants before
referral to employers for interview;
· Arranging interviews
for the right candidates with the clients;
· Preparing
résumés and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of
suitable applicants;
· Informing candidates about the results
of their interviews
· Finalizing arrangements between client
and candidates;
· Offering advice to clients and candidates on
pay rates, training and career progression; reviewing recruitment
policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and
recruitment programs.
