Meet These 10 Hot Indian-American Super Models
Melanie Kannokada
Kannokada, a former Miss India America, stood out because she choose a rather "dramatic" career risk in 2009, when she left a well-paid business analyst position at McKinsey & Company for a far more uncertain career of an actress.
Melanie, who majored in mechanical engineering, was a cheerleader at the first instance, and later served as senior class president and volunteered for India. But her only expedition into the arts had been with Stanford's Bollywood dance troupe named Dil Se.
Melanie says, "I've learned to compete with people who've been acting since they were 5.I've had to hustle! But I wanted to follow my heart. I didn't want to live a deferred life."
The former Miss Indian-American modeled for some top brands such as NesCafe, Crocs, Acura, Herbal Essences, LG, DSW, and Verizon. And yes not to forget, she is also an actress.
