Sewa International President, Prof. Sree Sreenath Inducted into Cleveland International Hall of Fame

Cleveland International Hall of Fame that recognizes and honors people who have made significant contributions to ethnic diversity in NE Ohio has inducted Prof. Sree Sreenath, the President of Sewa International along with another five inductees. The inductees for the Class of 2019 were selected from among 150 plus nominees through an anonymous process.



On receiving the honor, Prof. Sreenath, says, “I am honored and humbled by this recognition. I am thankful to the Board of Directors of Sewa International for entrusting me with a wonderful opportunity to serve. I will continue to work for the good of the humanity”.



Previously, Cleveland International Hall of Fame has inducted U.S. Senator George Voinovich, and automotive entrepreneur Monte Ahuja. It was Ramesh Shah of Indian Physicians of Northern Ohio who inducted Prof. Sreenath into the Hall of Fame at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott, Key Center. The other inductees are Dr. Akram Boutros, Ingrida Bublys, Paul Burik, Richard Fleischman and Marilyn Madigan.



Since 2009, Prof. Sreenath has been serving as the President of Sewa International, a Hindu faith-based charitable nonprofit specializing in disaster recovery, education, volunteering, and development. Sewa International also provides tutoring in Euclid High School and Garfield High School through it’s ASPIRE (Achieving Student Progress, Instilling Resilience and Excellence) program. Sewa International’s part was instrumental in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in 25 disasters around the world during Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria, and also the floods in Kerala, India.

His energy, his intelligence, and his ability to deal with issues big and small with grace and calm is a matter of pride for us”.



Prof. Sreenath holds a B.E degree in Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University, M.E in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has served as the Co-Director of UNESCO GENIe Program, an international network of educational institutions, and also the Director of Complex Systems Biology Center at the university. Prof. Sreenath also worked as a consultant to several developing countries on matters concerning water management, energy, and policy development.
