Teenagers In Mini Metros More Active On Internet: Survey


Region wise, the survey reveals that 78.58 percent of youth from mini metros who were surveyed have a Facebook account. While that in the metros is 72.87 percent and a national average 75.73 percent. So don’t be jealous if your cousin from Pune or Ahmedabad has more friends and followers than yourself in a metro, just accept the truth. They are more active on social media than the youth of the metro.

Bangalore particularly, has most number of students surveyed acknowledging their internet access from home.  Silicon Valley sees highest amount of mobile internet users among the students with around 15 percent while the national average stands at around 10 percent. The city also has the lowest usage of cyber café with less than 3 percent while the national average is 5.3 percent.

Gauging of the Indian youth related to their internet consumption and its patterns gives a clear picture of the transformation in the social interaction. Beaming into the world through the digital window, young India clicks and taps its thoughts and emotions as it treads the path of time.
