#4 David Sacks: Socially relevant films

David Sacks was CEO and founder of Yammer, and also former CEO of PayPal. As a result of Yammer’s acquisition by Microsoft in July 2012, he is now a corporate vice president in Microsoft’s Office Division. This tech geek is also a Hollywood hitmaker, through his production company Room 9, Sacks produced the film "Thank You For Smoking," which grossed some $39 million worldwide and he also made "Dumbstruck," a movie about professional ventriloquists.

He also spends on startups like Uber that are helping out older companies which do not use internet and another startup, Cherry, which was about mobile car-wash service, this start up however got shelved.

#3 Hasso Plattner: Fighting AIDS, improving design

SAP cofounder Hasso Plattner invested $35 million into the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University, focused on product design. He also gave about $265 million to the Hasso Plattner Institute, which focuses specifically on enterprise-software design. Other then tech investments he’s also donated millions of dollars to fight AIDS and hosts concerts to raise AIDS awareness at his luxury golf estate in South Africa, a country hard-hit by the disease.

He's also a racing enthusiast whose pro racing team has faced-off with arch business enemy Larry Ellison.
