Cisco CEO John Chambers wants to eliminate cancer. A year ago he donated $750,000 for cancer research at West Virginia University. Both of his parents were doctors who graduated from WVU.
Chambers is also known to fight this dreadful decease in personal way too; he got his Cisco employee who was diagnosed with a terminal, inoperable form of cancer, the good medical felicities available, who eventually was saved.
#1 Mark Zuckerberg: Newark's schools
Mark Zuckerberg co-founder and CEO of Facebook gave $100 million to the public school system of Newark, New Jersey.
Mark wasn’t from New Jersey but he said he picked Newark after a year of research because he felt this school system had the pieces in place to improve itself.
He’s also signed up for Giving Pledge and vowed to give away most of his money to more education and health charities.
