11. Intel on the Endeavour

In 1995, astronauts on the space ship Endeavour used Intel’s ProShare Personal Conferencing software to share photographic images on the PC with NASA flight coordinators at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

12. "Bong"

Intel, in its advertising and branding uses the ‘bong’ sound as a sonic logo, which was created by Austrian-born composer Walter Werzowa in 2004. It is estimated that the tune is played somewhere around the world every five minutes.

13. Cleanroom is Clean and Big

More than three football fields could fit inside an Intel’s Cleanroom. A monorail system is used to transport silicon wafers in the Cleanroom which has about three miles of track. Air in the Cleanroom has no particle measuring thicker than 0.5 micron across. A human hair is about 100 microns. The Cleanroom is about 1,000 times cleaner than a typical hospital, which had made and shipped around 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 chips annually by 2003.
