Google Is Entering The E-Commerce War With Amazon And eBay
Bangalore: After the six month long rattle of rumors, Google is now preparing to launch the same-day-delivery service called Google Shopping Express, according to Tech Crunch.
Keeping with all the previous pieces, Google’s shopping search can tell when a product is or is not in stock in the nearby stores. Google has even added startups like Bufferfox and Channel Intelligence to prep up by expanding its teams and commerce offerings on shopping projects.
Just like Amazon’s Prime membership, Google Shopping Express would offer unlimited deliveries for an annual fee of $69 or even $10 cheaper than Amazon’s membership.
The same-day delivery service has been tested by Google employees and eBay will also see some competition with Google shopping Express now. eBay had also recently expanded its same day delivery service for which goods when being delivered from retail locations of partners like Target and Macy’s to customers, receive payments through PayPal services to San Jose, Calif.
Right now Amazon, eBay and Google are the three giants in the e-commerce segment.
Leaving Amazon and eBay, Google has a simple way of earning profits. It keeps a track of all the clicks it generates and refines the placement of advertisements. The other two e-commerce giants make money directly through transactions where Amazon is the primary retailer and eBay is the middleman.
Google has been attempting ways to track customers. From experimenting with Groupon style deal to a tap-to-pay wallet Smartphone app.
According to a Google insider, the transaction is the ultimate click. So the move with the same day delivery service will be a big battle for Amazon and eBay anyway.
